My love for photography began when I got my first camera on my 30th birthday. I started by capturing nature and the moon, but everything changed after I supported a photographer at work during a school photo day. Watching them capture the kids' personalities lit a spark in me.

I dove into learning — practicing on dolls and teddies (with some very questionable early results!). In 2021, Mel-Rae Photography was born. My first real session? Five kids under five — chaos, joy, and pure magic. Since then, I’ve built a small, wonderful client base of returning families, and I’m so grateful for every moment.
